About our studio: White Squirrel Clayworks was founded in 2018. We strive to produce high quality ceramic wares for the home and table. We are a business comprised of wholesale and retail consumers nationwide. Our production studio is a home-based studio located in downtown Oberlin, OH. 

Studio Assistant

Job Status: Part-time. 25-30 hours a week.

Hourly Rate: $15-$17 per hour. 

Requirements: This position requires a highly organized individual with attention to detail. You will be responsible for sanding, glazing and waxing all items made at the studio. You will be responsible for producing high quality work within a timely fashion. And you must work well with other team members to meet deadlines. 

You must be able to stand while working for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.

You must be professional, responsible, show up on time, work well when left solo or when working with the team. You must have reliable transportation to get to work and proof of US citizenship.

Hours are during the mornings and/or afternoons Monday-Friday. Flexible if needed.

Description: The studio assistant is responsible for sanding, glazing and waxing of all items made at the studio. This position replenishes glaze by the mixing of dry glazes for dipping. Moderate cleaning of studio is required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Potter

Job Status: Part-time. 15 hours a week. (3) 5 hour shifts.

Hourly Rate: $15-$17 per hour. 

Requirements: An education in ceramics is preferred or a portfolio illustrating your high quality ceramic art with an attention to detail. This position is focused on all wheel thrown items that are created within our studio. You need to be able to throw a minimum of 6 pots per hour that are consistent is weight, size and shape. You will need to be proficient in mirroring our product lines with detail and efficiency.

You must be able to stand while working for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.

You must be professional, responsible, show up on time, work well when left solo or when working with the team. You must have reliable transportation to get to work and proof of US citizenship. 

Description: The potter will work independently to create wheel thrown items for wholesale and retail consumers. We work hard at our studio to bring customers only the best quality. This includes mugs, bowls, pitchers, planters and other products. You will help recycle clay, trim greenware, sand, prep supplies, create items, and sometimes glaze. Moderate cleaning of studio is required. This position will require two months of training and has the possibility of extra hours during the holiday season for the right candidate.

Production Assistant

Job Status: Part-time. 12 hours a week. (2) 6 hour shifts. Flexible if needed.

Hourly Rate: $15-$17 an hour. 

Requirements: An education in ceramics is preferred or a portfolio illustrating your high quality ceramic art with an attention to detail. This position is focused on all the hand built items that are created within our studio. Wheel throwing is not a requirement but you must show proficiency in your field and have a willingness to learn. 

You must be able to stand while working for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.

You must be professional, responsible, show up on time, work well when left solo or when working with the team. You must have reliable transportation to get to work and proof of US citizenship. 

Description: The production assistant will work as part of a team to create hand built items for wholesale and retail consumers. We work hard at our studio to bring customers only the best quality. This includes clocks, flatware, dinnerware and other slab built products. You will help recycle clay, prep supplies, create items, assemble items and sometimes glaze. Moderate cleaning of studio is required. This position will require two months of training and has the possibility of extra hours during the holiday season for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who is looking to grow as an artist.
